In an effort to reconnect with students, PHS’s athletics department unanimously elected last Saturday to reinvent their image by updating their music playlist. All gym teachers agreed that their previous, antiquated selection of songs should be replaced with a modern list featuring all the hits of 2010.
“Our old playlist just had a bunch of songs from 2008 and 2009. Talk about outdated!” said physical educator Mr. Richard Borden. “Our new playlist has all the cool new tunes kids are listening to these days.”
Borden went on to confirm that the new playlist includes all the latest chart toppers, such as Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance,” Taio Cruz’s “Dynamite,” and Randy Newman’s “Short People,” a personal favorite of the athletics department.
Most students agree the change is a pleasant one and find it contributes positively to all aspects of their physical education experience. “The new playlist is great for Health too,” exclaimed John Mayburn ‘15. “Ke$ha’s ‘Tik Tok’ does a great job of reinforcing all the aspects of the healthy lifestyle that we discussed in class.”
